Paying for Care

Insurance

Depending on insurance, care may be paid for at 100 percent or there may be a copay to be paid directly to the facility. We will let you know before admission what the payment terms are for your insurance company. Most insurance companies authorize a certain number of days a person can stay with us during recovery. We will work together to be sure you or your loved one are given the time needed to recover before safely and confidently returning home.

Medicare

Depending on your current circumstances, Medicare may cover you 100 percent for the first 20 days (although circumstances may dictate otherwise). A predetermine copay is assessed by Medicare for longer care needs. If there is a secondary insurance, such as Medigap, they will often cover whatever Medicare does not cover.

If you or your loved one do not have a secondary insurance such as Blue Cross or Medicaid, the copay may need to be paid personally. We will work with you to determine how much coverage is available through Medicare and what options are available.

Private Pay

Our rates are set based on industry-established criteria. If you or your loved one do not have insurance coverage for an upcoming stay, we have an all-inclusive rate available. Easy payment options through direct deposit and credit card are available.

Medicaid

We accept Medicaid, but often there is a misconception about what Medicaid pays. Simply put, Medicaid pays the balance of whatever funds are available. What this means is: if you receive Social Security or a pension, all of these funds need to be paid to cover care minus a small stipend the government allows. Medicaid will pay the balance. The funds available cannot be used to pay for anything outside of our care unless it has been authorized by the Medicaid office.

Our social worker and business office staff will work closely with you and your family to help identify resources to help pay for care.

Payment Methods

We accept Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Discover. Many of our residents find it easier for Social Security to send us their checks directly to avoid delays. We can facilitate this process. Personal and cashier checks as well as money orders are also acceptable means of payment.
