Updated notice: Yes

3 or more residents or staff with new respiratory symptoms within 72 hours of one another: NO
Mitigation strategies:
Facilities will continue to provide guidance (e.g., posted signs at entrances) about recommended actions for visitors who have a positive viral test for Covid-19, symptoms of covid-19, or have had close contact with someone with Covid-19. Visitors with confirmed Covid-19 infection or compatible symptoms should defer non-urgent in-person visitation until they meet CDC criteria for healthcare settings to end isolation. For visitors who had close contact with someone with Covid-19 infection, it is safest to defer non-urgent in person visitation until 10 days after their close contact if they meet criteria described in CDC healthcare guidance (e.g., cannot wear source control).

I needed to update the Covid status of the facility. In the past few days we have had 5 staff members that have tested positive for Covid 19. We do not currently have any residents that have tested positive or are showing any signs or symptoms of Covid 19. We continue to test our staff weekly and just completed testing our residents today, 3/29/2021. Due to these positive test results of our staff we have had to postpone visitation to the facility at the present time. We will continue to test our staff and residents and will notify you when visitation can resume. If you should have any questions please feel free to call me at the facility. (313) 273-8764.

We have been testing all residents and staff weekly in compliance with the Governor’s executive order, for Covid 19. We just received the results back from our July 10 tests and had 12 residents come back positive for the virus. 4 of these are residents that tested positive back in April. The residents are asymptomatic and have passed the CDC guidelines of 10 days without developing symptoms. They have been cohorted with residents that are either currently positive or have been positive in the past. If you should have any questions please feel free to call me at the facility. As many of you may already know we are required by the State of Michigan to test our residents and all staff weekly. With our last round of testing we had 2 residents so far that have come back positive for Covid-19. We continue to monitor this situation very closely and will give updates when new cases are discovered.

Good news this week, we have not had any new cases in the facility. We continue to monitor our residents very closely and will be testing all residents again in the near future to try and rule out any new cases developing here at the facility. We still do not have any update on when the State will allow visitors into the facility to visit loved ones. As soon as we get an update we will share it with all of you.

Unfortunately we had one resident that tested positive for Covid-19. That resident continues to be monitored on our Covid Positive unit. Just a reminder that the Covid positive unit is staffed by a separate group of staff members that only work with the residents on that unit. We continue to monitor all of our residents for any signs or symptoms of the Covid virus. As always we will keep you informed of happenings here at the facility.
